It’s the 1st of October which means Halloween is creeping (pardon the pun) upon us! This doesn’t mean that you have to wait until the day before and then whip out the inflatable ghosts on the front lawn! Although if that’s the look you’re going for this year then power to you!
With the beautiful colours of Autumn around it’s hard not to get into the spirit of things. I prefer to start around now and go for a more subtle, stylish look by sticking to natural palettes found at this time of year. So gradually adding pops of orange, mustard and browny tones throughout my home. I much prefer gathering natural elements as you can see in my previous post rather than being too plastic fantastic. There is a fine like between stylish and tacky when it comes to decorating your home for Halloween. Below are a few ideas to get to started.
Pimp your home with pumpkins
Pumpkins are the perfect festive touch, I love carving them with the kids but I also love the small white ones which are the perfect, subtle Halloween accessory. Carve them, paint them or simply display them creatively around your home.

Fiendish foraging.
Gather conkers, branches & colourful leaves to make small displays around your home.
Bewitching blooms!
Fresh and faux flowers are a perfect way to add colour to your home and great alternative to Halloween decorations.

Gothic glamour!
If you want to step your decor up a level but still keep it looking stylish, try adding a touch of gothic glamour. Groups of black pillar candles, dark velvet cushions along with quirky prints & accessories like skulls and busts. Shop a few of my favourites below.
